Daniel Joseph GradyWeaverville - Daniel Joseph Grady, 62, died on Wednesday, November 08, 2017 in Weaverville, NC. He was born on November 14, 1954 in Boston, MA to Jack and Mary Grady. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan. In 1977, Dan married his college sweetheart, Mary Catherine "Kit" Sisk. Together, they raised three children, Heather Lash of Cary, Shannon Critcher of Weaverville and Joey Grady of Charlotte.Dan was a registered Respiratory Therapist, who earned a master's degree from NC State University. He was a compassionate leader in his field and dedicated his life to improving the quality of life for those in his care. He served in both direct patient care and managerial roles with hospitals across the state. Most recently, he served as Director of Research and Development at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Prior to that position, he served as Administrative Director of Neuro Medical Services at First Health in Pinehurst, N.C. He also received several patents for medical technologies that improved tissue oxygenation and safety for patients. Dan is survived by his wife, children, and four grandchildren, Caden Lash, Stella Lash, Kya Critcher and Kian Critcher. He is survived by his siblings, Jack Grady, Bob Grady, Kathy Mordecai, Maureen Nevins, David Grady and Sheila Moye as well as their children.
