Dana Johnson, 50, of East Saint Louis, Illinois passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. Dana was born to the late Robert Johnson and Patricia Johnson on September 19, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York.

Dana graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1987. Dana worked at the City of East Saint Louis as a Demolition Coordinator for over 15 years. 

A loving mother and a hardworker, Dana was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing new dishes for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. For many years, she volunteered at homeless shelters in her community to help provide healthy meals to those in need. She loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and LifeTime movies in her spare time. She was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals - baseball - fan and attended many of their games as well. 

She loved the sun and despite her hectic schedule she traveled often to visit family and friends around the world. Dana was "outspoken" and would often have an oponion about politics today. She was not shy about giving someone the truth no matter the situation, and she was a woman of respect and pride. 

Dana was predeceased in death by her loving mother and father Robert Johnson and Patricia Johnson. Dana is survived by her two children: Brittney Love of New Jersey, and Brandon Johnson of Illinois; two grandchildren: Gabrielle Love and Harmoni Coley of New Jersey; sisters Tanya Johnson-Rives, and Stephanie Johnson of Illinois; two nephews, as well as her two English Bulldogs: Simbah and Sasha, and a host of other family and friends.

Dana requests an intimate memorial service not far from her childhood home. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days.
