Dale Henderson, 94Clifford Dale Henderson, 94, of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Westminster Village. Dale was born on January 6, 1919 in Lafayette, the son of the late Clifford and Juanita Samuels Henderson. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1937 and went on to attend
Purdue University. He honorably served in the Navy during WW II. Dale married Betty Lee Ross on October 4, 1941 in Lafayette and she preceded him death on February 3, 1990. He worked for Alcoa for 33 years before retiring and also farmed in Tippecanoe County. Dale was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #492, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, Merou Grotto, American Legion Post #492, the 40 et 8 Voiture, and the Alcoa 25-year club.Surviving are his children, William R. Henderson (wife, Betty), Lynn A. Rihn, and Janis S. Chapman (husband, Bill), all of West Lafayette, and his loving and devoted companion, Phyllis Geiger. Dale is also survived by his 5 granddaughters, Danielle Robinson (Brian), Molly Meyer (Bill), Shanna Donica (Jason), Betsy Stocksick (Mike), Suzannah Rihn (Sam Wilson), 12 great-grandchildren and a special late-in-life friend, Gary Reif. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen "Sue" Schnepp and a great-grandson, Joseph Meyer.Memorial visitation 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 (day after Thanksgiving) with the memorial service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Battle Ground United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Brammer and Pastor Gary Reif officiating. Private burial at Battle Ground Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Dale's memory to the Battle Ground United Methodist Church.
