D. Sharon RhoadesPEORIA - Dorothy Sharon Rhoades, 76, of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Creve Coeur, Illinois, passed away at her residence at Independence Village in Peoria on Monday, November 21, 2016.She was born on April 1, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois. She married Eugene "Gene" Rhoades on August 9, 1959, in Creve Coeur, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2002, in Peoria.She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn VanNattan.Sharon is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Leasa) Rhoades of Metamora, IL, Lisa (Joe) Winans of LaFayette, IL, and Lori (Troy) Grant of Mebane, NC; 6 grandchildren, Nicole (Dustin) Herrick, Michelle (David) Brecklin, Hannah Grant, Hunter Grant, Jack Winans and Holly Winans; and 2 great-grandchildren, Grady and Reece Brecklin. She has two brothers, Kenneth (Connie) VanNattan and James (Sue) VanNattan; and one sister, Mary Hall. She worked for the Creve Coeur School District while her children were young and cherished the many friends she made throughout the years. Her true happiness was caring for her garden of flowers she would plant every year. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, Illinois. The Rev. Al Harmon will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
