Cyle Duncan Hardman, age 46, died suddenly on July 13, 2013. Cyle dealt with chronic health problems throughout his life, but he always carried them with a smile. Cyle was born on Dec. 23, 1966, in Logan, Utah, to Joe and Oneda Hardman and due to complications came into this world with a challenge ... Cyle was born completely blind. Cyle grew up on the family dairy farm, learning how to work and get around in the community. There was a time when it would have been impossible to travel the streets of Mendon without seeing Cyle and his "best friend," his Dad Joe. They went everywhere together! On the tractor, milking cows, hauling hay, to the store to get a "sodie" ... all the while the two of them together, Cyle at his Dad's elbow. Cyle wanted to be a part of everything and always wanted to "go, go, go." It didn't really matter where, as long as he was going. When his Dad passed away, as hard as it was, Cyle started a new life working toward independence. He moved to Roy and lived in a group home so he could expand his opportunities and "keep going." He also began working and took pride in the fact that he had a job. He enjoyed talking about his work and his accomplishments, but Cyle always dreamed of doing more. He really wanted to be a mechanic and loved taking things apart!Cyle will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who loved and cared deeply for his family. He always asked about everyone, how everyone was doing - he even asked about the dogs! He loved animals, mechanics and tinkering like his Dad. He also loved music, especially Elvis, and he had an extensive collection of his records, tapes and CDs. Cyle was a member of the LDS church, he also attended the Utah State School for the Deaf and Blind, where he learned to read Braille and navigate on his own. Cyle is survived and deeply loved by his mother Oneda Hardman and brother Floyd, both of Mendon, brother John (Teresa) of Mendon, brother Curtis of Logan, sisters Natalie Lundahl (Mark) of Mendon, Mary Hammond of Twin Falls, Idaho, and his twin sister Camille Saltern (Ron) of Mendon. Cyle was also loved and admired by his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and "best friend," Joseph Henry Hardman. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at the Mendon City Cemetery.
