Cuberto G. MirandaMarch 20, 1937 - December 30, 2014Cuberto G. Miranda 77, passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014.Cuberto was born on March 20, 1937 in Fabens, Texas to Apolonio and Rafaela Miranda. In Texas is where he began working on the fields leaving his education in the 6th grade. He spent most of his early childhood working the fields in Texas and California harvesting peas, onions, carrots, and cotton. In 1947 Cuberto came to Idaho with his family and made Pocatello his permanent home. He continued to work on the potato and beat fields in Idaho. He was the oldest to 5 brothers and 5 sistersCuberto spent his early years in a band called "Los Caballeros" that he formed with his brothers and friends where he played the accordion & Guitar. He loved music and dancing having a good time with people he loved was always a priority.On November 16, 1961 he married Amelia Oresco (Miranda) together they had one son, Paul Miranda and One Daughter, Elena Miranda. His family became his new priority and he put his heart and soul into working hard to provide for them. Cuberto worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a laborer and retired in 1984 when he was severely injured on the job.He loved living life and loved the outdoors he spent his time with his wife and children camping, fishing and hunting he did this as often as he could and would make it a family affair and include all of his brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. He also loved to garden and would spend a lot of time on his gardens and his yard. He loved spending as much time as he could with his brothers and you could usually find them under a hood of a car. He loved old cars, buying them and resorting them. His greatest joy though was his little dogs Ricky, Sasha and Midgy.Cuberto is survived by his Son Paul Miranda and Daughter Elena Miranda. Brothers: Encarnacion Miranda, Lorenzo Miranda, and Ignacio Miranda. Sisters: Candelaria Garcia, Baselisia Salas, Julia Medina, Irene Serrano, and Susana Arriaga, Grandchildren: Alesha (Dustin) Nicholas, Aubrey Miranda, Erick Estrada, Anthony Estrada and Great Grandchildren: Dylan Guthrie, Noah Spradling, Contessa Nicholas, Gabriel & Ricky Miranda and Alec Baker.Cuberto is preceded in death by his Mother and Father Apolonio and Rafaela Miranda, Wife Amelia Miranda, Brothers Andres Miranda, Antonio Miranda, Julio Miranda, and Paulito MirandaCuberto was an active member of the St. Anthony Catholic church so we will celebrate his life. Celebration of his life will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road with a luncheon to follow. Family and friends are welcome to a viewing that will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2014 at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
