Clorinda Rubin, 86, a lifetime resident of Wagon Mound, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, following an extended illness.She was born on Jan. 17, 1929, in Ocate to Juan A. Duran and Juanita N. Lucero Duran.She was united in marriage with Jesus E. Rubin on June 19, 1949, in Springer.A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. She served as Eucharistic minister, Cursillista and a catechism instructor. Clorinda enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, fishing, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Jesus E. Rubin; granddaughter: Rachel Rubin; parents: Juan and Juanita Duran; and sister: Elsie Duran Lovato.She is survived by her daughters: JoAnn Arguello and husband, George, of Las Vegas, Agnes Valdez and husband, Bernardo, of Velarde, Mabel Valdez and husband, Elmo, of Velarde, Juanita Almanzar and husband, Austin of Los Lunas, Barbara Tortorici and husband, Robert, of Virginia; sons: Robert Rubin and wife, Elena, of Santa Fe, Tony Rubin and wife, Jeannie, of Wagon Mound, Andy Rubin and fianceé, Joyce, of Las Vegas; grandsons: George, Albino, Fernando, Lawrence, Joey, Chris, David, Augustine, John, Robert, Adrian, Charlie, "Little" Tony, Brian and Jesus; granddaughters: Clara, Amalinda, Elizabeth, Samantha, Antoinette, Aubry, Felicia, Melody and Haily; sisters: Aurelia Fernandez; Caroline Arguello, and Cecilia Duran; brothers: Juan A. Duran Jr., Anselmo Duran, Tim Duran and Steve Duran; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday with Father C John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Albino Valdez, Joey Valdez, Augustine Almanzar, Robert Rubin, "Little" Tony Rubin and Fernando Arguello.
