RACINE - Climena 'Cli' (nee: Greer) Montee, 96, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints. She was born on October 11, 1915 in Cherokee, Kansas, the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (nee: Swearingen) Greer. Cli completed her education in a one-room schoolhouse by the age of 13, and started teaching at the age of 17. On April 29, 1935, Cli was united in marriage to Louis Montee. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1973. She had been a member of Christ Church United Methodist since 1957 and was active in the Church Circle. Cli had been employed at Hamilton Beach and High Ridge Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with family. Cli also loved to sing, which she did for family, friends and anyone who would enjoy her music. Surviving are two sons, Dan (Linda) Montee and Jack Montee, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Louis, daughter-in-law, Carol, two grandchildren, Scott and Nancy Montee, one great great grandchild, three sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 5 p.m. with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Cli will be laid to rest next to Louis, at Graceland Cemetery on Monday at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday before services from 3 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. A special thank you to the staff at Home Harbor for the care given to Cli.
