Marquart, Clifford Lynn ,of Dallas, Texas, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. He was 78 years old. Cliff was larger than life and his happiness was contagious. He never met a stranger, always wore a smile, loved a good joke, and enjoyed entertaining people with his stories. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.Cliff was born on August 22, 1938, to Harold and Ella Marquart in Louisville, KY and was the youngest of 5 siblings. He attended Holy Family, St. Xavier Prep School, and Columbia Military Academy. After high school, he attended the University of Tennessee on a football scholarship where he was a 3-year letterman in football. Cliff was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Finance. After a knee injury ended his football career, he went into the food industry marketing and developing new food products such as Gatorade and International Delight. His career took him all over the world to London, Paris, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and finally Dallas, Texas. In 1976, Cliff married the love of his life Linda Garvik. They made their home in Dallas where they raised their two boys and made many lifelong friends.Cliff retired in 2003 and was an avid golfer, fisherman, and volunteer at Scottish Rite Hospital. He was a member of the Dallas Country Club, the Knox-Corinthian Masonic Lodge and Christ Lutheran Church. In recent years, Cliff's greatest joy was helping Linda with her successful home building business and watching his grandchildren grow. Cliff is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Marquart of Dallas, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Brooke Marquart and grandchildren, Ella, Olivia, Annie and Wynne; his son, Mike Marquart; daughter and son-in-law Lynette Xanders and Chris Martin and granddaughter, Lexi; and daughter and son-in-law Angi Xanders and David Bottini, and grandchildren Adam and Madison Lawrence. His funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas.
