Charles, Clarence J.Clarence J. Charles, age 92, of Kewaunee died on Sunday, January 1, 2017. He was born on May 17, 1924 in Namur to the late Alex and Exilda (Burlow) Charles. He married Vergil Decremer on September 27, 1944 in Dycksville, WI.They lived and farmed in Duvall until moving to Kewaunee in 1985 where he worked at the Piggly-Wiggly store until retiring. He and Vergil enjoyed polka and square dancing.Survivors include Vergil, his wife of seventy-two years; a son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Judy Charles, Montgomery, TX; a daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Nick Vandervest, Kewaunee; four grandchildren: Chad (Stephanie) Charles; Charity (Jeff) Hartjes; Renae (Adam) Schlies; Josh (Andrea) Vandervest; eight great grandchildren: Taylor; Grace; Claire; Joey; Eve; Jake; Max; Saul; one brother and sister-in-law: Eddie and Beatrice Charles, Green Bay; a brother-in-law: Roland (Irene) Decremer, Luxemburg; a sister-in-law: Virginia Cochart, Lincoln. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mayme (Joe) Derenne; Anna (Joe) Lamperour; Dahlia Charles; one brother: Ben (Helen) Charles.Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ray Anderson followed by a lunch.
