Shimon, Clarence A. (Pep)Clarence A. (Pep) Shimon, age 98, of 5729 Homestead Road, Manitowoc, and most recently St. Mary's Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017.He was born on March 12, 1919 to Frank and Rose (Hynek) Shimon. Pep attended Sunny Slope School and Lincoln High School. He graduated from Manitowoc Teacher's College in 1938 and taught at the Niles School from 1938 - 1941. Pep was in the Signal Corps in World War II from 1941 - 1945. He married Madonna (Dona) Hunsader on June 25, 1947. Pep was a farmer and was also employed by the Hamann Construction Company.Survivors include his wife: Dona, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Gail & Jack Haag, Sturgeon Bay, Joanne & Dan Jones, Townsend; one son and daughter-in-law: Don & Mary (Backhaus) Shimon, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Shimon, Madison, Paul (Jenny) Shimon, Madison, Jennifer (Brandon) Arndt, Green Bay, Kristine (Theron) May, Chicago, Brenda (Jones) Funaro, St. Petersburg, FL.; four great grandchildren: Tegan and Petra Arndt, Carter and Kylie Shimon; one brother: Edwin Shimon; one sister: Helen Connolly; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joyce Hunsader, Connie Hunsader, Janice Hunsader, Richard Lewis and Lenore and Charles Christel.He was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Vic (Blanche) Shimon; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Viola Shimon, Blanche (Clarence) Kornely; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Clarence Connolly, Irene Shimon, Leonard and Mabel Tienor, Mark and Margaret Hunsader, Robert Hunsader, Florian and Dorothy Zik, Ken and Ruth Holsen, Jim Hunsader, Paul Hunsader and Jeanne Lewis.Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry.
