Mrs. Clara Colbert, 85, of Washington Dc, formerly of Charleston Sc, passed away on February 16, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 8, 1933 in Gastonia Nc. And was raised in Charleston Sc. She married the love of her life, Peter F. Colbert on February 9, 1953. They will now be reunited in heaven. Clara was immerersed in the Christian community that would be her longlife support from an early age. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1970 with a degree in mathematics and accepted a position as a high school math teacher, where she teached for 38 years. Clara was a lady of many talents. She had the voice of a songbird and the moves to match. She could cook like no other! Most of all, her capacity to love was beyond measure. She was a very loving and compassionate mother who adored not only her children, but all children. Clara is survived and deeply missed by her daughters; Sharon (Dean) Smith, of Florence Sc, and Cynthia J (Gregory) Brockway, of Charleston, Sc, and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, neices and nephews.Clara was preceded on death by her husband, Peter F. Clolbert, on July 17, 2017, her only beloved son, Peter F. Colbert. on November 19, 2015, and her youngest daughter, Rebecca Colbert on May 29, 2011.
