Marx, ClaireClaire (Darlene) Marx 103 passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016 at Rennes Nursing Home in Appleton, WI. She was born on May 3, 1913 to the late John and Agnes (Guyett) Marmes, in Menasha and had resided in the Fox Valley all of her life. She was united in marriage to the late Norbert J. Marx, on November 5, 1938 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. They shared 60 years together until his death on February 15, 1999. Claire retired from Kimberly Clark in 1952. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, the Appleton American Legion Auxiliary Unit #38, a member of the Harvey Pierre
VFW Auxiliary #2778, Neenah/Menasha Elks,
Women of the Moose, AARP and she did volunteer work at the Americana Health Center as well as the St. Elizabeth Hospital Gift Department. Claire especially enjoyed sending time with her grandson, Michael, she like to travel with her husband and friends, she enjoyed doing needlepoint, playing cards and spending time with her many dear friends. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jane Marx, Appleton; grandson Michael Marx, one sister-in-law, Irene Marx, Steubenville, Ohio, and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert and brother Loran Marmes, brother, Roland and sister-in-law, Helen Marmes.The funeral liturgy for Claire will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St. at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating with a one hour prior visitation.
