Christopher "Chris" OzanichLansingChristopher "Chris" Ozanich, 43, of Lansing passed away April 15, 2017. Chris was born on April 15, 1974 in Lansing, Michigan to Walter and Mary Kay Ozanich. He graduated from Lansing Catholic Central High School. He attended Lansing Community College and was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. His first love was his family; they created lots of happy memories with camping, traveling, bicycling, skiing, sports, and just being together. Chris had a passion for modified stock car racing and enjoyed competing at local short tracks, where he was fondly known as "Oz Man". Over his racing career, he tallied many career wins and accomplishments, including being named the 2002 Owosso Speedway "Rookie of the Year", the 2005 Michigan Racing Scene "Asphalt Modified Driver of the Year", and the 2005 Michigan Racing Scene Favorite Pavement Modified Driver".Chris is survived by his wife Kelly; children Tyler & Kayla; parents Walter & Mary Kay Ozanich; sister Cheri (Eric) Kleynenberg; nephew Gavin Kleynenberg; niece Alexa Kleynenberg. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul and nephew Jacob Kleynenberg.A special thank you to Chris' friends and all the others who have stepped up, cared, stood behind and beside Chris during difficult times over the past few years. He was a special person who made a difference in this world.Visitation will be on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Tiffany Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.
