Christopher David Murray passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 1, 2016, at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas, surrounded by fellow police officers and his family at the age of 31.Chris was born on March 4, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dick and Jody Murray. He graduated from Murray High School in 2003 and went on to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tacoma, Washington. He married the love of his life, Hailey Klingler, for time and all eternity on April 25, 2008, in the Rexburg Idaho Temple. After moving to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2011, Chris worked for three years for the Frisco Police as a 911 dispatcher. He graduated from Police Academy on Nov. 18, 2016, fulfilling his dream of becoming a police officer. The couple welcomed their daughter, Lorelei, into their family on Nov. 4, 2014, and were looking forward to welcoming their son, Kaz, this upcoming January 2017. Chris was the perfect example of a selfless father and husband. Family will remember Chris as a tease, fun-loving, a fierce competitor and a great example through service and his continuous acts of kindness.Chris was passionate about serving others, which fit perfectly with his career choice as a police officer. He was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. He loved sports and spending time with his family - especially trips to Disneyland.Chris is survived by his mother, Jody Murray Luthi, and stepfather Frank Luthi, of Utah; his sister Jamie Ulibarri, brother Derrick Murray, and sister Kathy Ancell, also of Utah; eight nephews and two nieces; his wife, Hailey Klingler Murray, of Texas; daughter, Lorelei Violet Murray; and unborn son, Kaz Murray. He is preceded in death by his father, Dick Murray.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Newdale LDS Chapel, with Bishop Jason Grover officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
