CREMEANS Christopher Grant walked into heaven on the afternoon of Sunday, September 18th in Lexington, KY. He was the beloved husband for 48 years to his wife Karen Gene (Agee) and a loving, proud and devoted father to his two daughters, Kimberly Anne Wilson-Mackey (Dan) and Kerry Lynn; his precious grandchildren Anna Grace Louise Wilson, Chase Christopher and Finley William Cremeans. He was a retired staff sergeant from the US Army and Army Reserves of 31 years. He retired from Richardson Merrill Pharmaceuticals before working as an assistant administrator at the West Virginia Veterans Home in Barboursville, WV for the last 18 years. He dearly loved giving time to his fellow veterans and staff and proudly serving his country. Chris was born on January 6, 1945, in Midkiff, WV the son of James Clarke and Anna Pauline Scites Cremeans. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Romine (Charles) and brother, Ronald Cremeans (Naomi), sister Diana Simpson, and a brother-in-law, Vince Agee (Joy), brother-in-law, Philip Agee (Jennie), and mother in-law, Thelma Agee. He is preceded in death by his three brothers James, Cliff (Peggy), and Greg Cremeans and sister, Lois Cremeans. Chris was a Kentucky Colonel, a Scioto County EMT, President of Eastern Scioto County Republicans, member of the American Legion and Elks, President of United Methodist men where he was a member for 35 years and co-partner in youth ministry with his wife at Wheelersburg, Hillsboro and Johnson Memorial United Methodist Churches. As an 8th grade student, he was knighted by Governor Underwood as a member of the Golden Horseshoe. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, where he earned a basketball scholarship to Marshall University. While at Marshall, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In 2007, Chris and his wife converted to Catholicism under Monsignor Luciana at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Huntington, WV. They are current members at St. Lawrence O'Toole in Ironton, OH under Father Huffman. Dad loved teaching his girls about sports: basketball, golf and softball. He loved spending time with family and we will all continue to carry on his legacy of love for family and God. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2016, 10:30am, Centenary United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service at 11:30am. Burial will be on Thursday, September 22, 2016, 4pm, at the Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, WV.
