Christian Quick was a true hero with a heart of an angel. He was a servant of God who was always willing to help anyone who needed it at anytime. Wether it was family, friends or strangers he would always help with a ready smile. He put family and friends above all else. Christian always had a hug and a ready smile for everyone. He especially loved working on projects with his dad and Gramps. He was a strong young man who enjoyed learning to do new things. Above all, he enjoyed time with his family especially his beloved older sister Ciara. He was so happy on family vacations, playing games with the family, (no one could beat him at chess!), and enjoying a meal together. He had a special bond with his sister. They were close from the beginning and all through the time they had together. Their bond grew especially close after he saved her life in April of 2019. He didn't hesitate to put his own life on the line to save hers. His acts were heroic and yet he was so humble about his actions. They always enjoyed the same things, the same games and anime. They would talk for hours about their favorite games and shows. They told each other everything and had nothing to hide between them. If they needed anything they always went right to each other, even if it was in the middle of the night needing to talk. He was a completely loved son. He would cook with his mom and loved learning from her. His mom lovingly homeschooled him and they enjoyed many wonderful years laughing and learning together. He enjoyed staying up late at night watching Marvel movies and NCIS with his dad. They spent hours discussing his creative ideas for inventions. Christian enjoyed a very close and happy relationship with his family.
Christian enjoyedplaying video games and watching movies and video, usually at the same time. He especially loved playing his video games with his cousins, Blake and J.J., numerous friends and his sister. He was always laughing as he frequently pranked his sister and the pets. He liked to "jump scare" Ciara and would laugh as he could easily make her scream followed by her playfully smacking him. As he got older he got better at sneaking up on his dad and scaring him. Wrestling with his dad was a favorite activity and as he got bigger he could always win. He was fascinated with drones and always wanted a bigger and better one. He loved all food. When asked what food he liked, the family would laughingly reply in unison, "Yes!" He especially loved apples and would eat them completely down to the stem and the seeds. His mom's chili was his favorite food. He wanted to learn how to make his favorite foods and then experiment with how to make them better. He was good at anything physical he set his mind to. He was so good at rugby, swimming, running and wrestling. This was not a surprise as he starting life as a champion speed crawler! He enjoyed outside activities, especially at his grandparent's ranch. He loved catching lizards during the day and playing with sticks in the fire at night. He was always happy, filthy and exhausted by the end of the day. He loved water. He could swim all day in the ocean or in pools. He always had his googles with him and would bob in the waves for hours or create waves in a swimming pool to delight the other children in the pool. Christian liked thinking of inventions, wether it was fantasy ideas like a spinning gauntlet on his wrist with tools in it or a practical tool that would help at work. He was very patriotic and could usually be seen in a shirt with either a flag or a big USA. His Denver Bronco baseball caps were his favorite. He had one for work and one for play. He loved our country and had talked about joining the Navy, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and great grandfathers. Helping others and supporting our country was a big part of who he was.
Christian was a big, loving part of his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Marci Quick, his sister Ciara, his grandparents Richard and Sheila Quick and Don and Angie Crouse, his aunts and uncles Jason and Kellie Crouse and Jamie and Carol Rivera, his cousins Blake and J.J. Crouse and Katie and Kevin Rivera and Violet Samuels. His close friends Taylor Schneider and Paul Knipmeyer. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sharon Crouse.
