Charlotte Rucker JohnstonMarch 11, 1950 - September 15, 2015Charlotte Ann Rucker Johnston, age 65, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully, following an extended illness, at her daughter's home on September 15, 2015. She was born on March 11, 1950 in Moscow, Idaho to Jesse Ray and Carmen Venetta (Stanley) Wedin. She was the oldest of four children and the only girl. Charlotte grew up on the family farm in Genesee, Idaho. She received her education at various universities including the University of Idaho and Idaho State University. She became an English as a Second Language Teacher for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25. She was extremely talented musically and participated in many church and community performances. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served in the Southern German Mission in the early 70's and numerous other church callings. Charlotte married Michael Rucker on June 11, 1975 in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this was this union were born Stephanie and Michael Jr. This marriage ended in divorce. She later married George Johnston in the Manti Utah Temple. Charlotte was preceded in death by both parents; a still born son, Michael; her brother, Charles Wedin; and most recently her beloved husband George in 2013. Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Doug) Stander of Pocatello; stepchildren, Maggie, Katie, Michael and Rebecca; twelve grandchildren; brothers, Paul Wedin of Pocatello, and John Wedin; and nieces and nephews.Charlotte's family will receive friends at a viewing on Sunday, September 20th from 6 to 8 at Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave and again on Monday, September 21st at 12 noon for an hour preceding the 1:00 PM funeral being held at the LDS Central Stake Building, 225 Oakwood Drive in Pocatello.
