Von Rotz, Charles "Chuck"Charles "Chuck" Mandus Von Rotz, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at home.He was born on January 7, 1926, in Fond du Lac, a son of Alphonse and Beatrice Kilmer Von Rotz. Charles was drafted in the eleventh grade into the
U.S. Navy, serving in
World War II on a cargo ship, U.S.S. Shoshone, from 1944-1946. On April 5, 2012, Chuck truly enjoyed going on the Honor Flight.On October 30, 1948, he married Jane Beyer at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church.Chuck graduated from Fond du Lac High School on June 9, 2005, with the Class of 2005, receiving his diploma at the age of 79.He worked for Olson Transportation, CW Transport, and Pinkerton Security. He was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as a money counter and an usher. Chuck was a longtime member of Eagles Aerie #270 F.O.E. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and playing cards with family on Friday nights.He is survived by his wife, Jane Von Rotz; three children: Robert (Judy) Von Rotz of Fond du Lac, Patricia Plout of Fond du Lac, and Kenneth (Rosemarie) Von Rotz of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren: Jessica (Kurt) Von Rotz Witt, Robert Jr. (fiancée, Chrisy) Von Rotz, and Jeanne (special friend, Tyler) Von Rotz; four great-grandchildren: Michael Von Rotz, Anthony Haddy, Mason Von Rotz, and Piper Von Rotz; a step-granddaughter, Jackie Plout; and two sisters-in-law: Lucille Von Rotz of Milwaukee and Caroline Dilling of Fond du Lac.He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Carol Beyer; a son-in-law, Tim Plout; three brothers: John (Faye), Don, and Al (Ginger); a brother-in-law, Robert Dilling; a niece, Cynthia Rodensal; and grand-dogs: Fred and HersheyVISITATION: The visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac.SERVICE: The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev.
