Klaeser, Charles L.Charles L. Klaeser, age 63, of Kiel, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Charlie was born on January 3, 1954 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Joseph & Geraldine (Henschel) Klaeser. He was a Kiel High School graduate with the class of 1972.He was employed at Evenson Excavating for many years before retiring due to health issues. Charlie was a member of the Wisconsin Wild Turkey Federation and Sturgeons for Tomorrow. He enjoyed hunting for turkeys and deer, fishing, and sturgeon spearing. He loved to grill out with friends, and always left his door open for anyone. Charlie loved anything to do with his niece, great niece, and great nephew. He looked forward to volunteering weekly with the Kiel Food Pantry and helping out any way he could.Charlie is survived by his niece, Tricia (Bryan) Barnard, Arkansas; his great nephew, Caleb Barnard; his great niece, Calli Barnard; his sister-in-law, JoAnne (Dick) Klaeser - Sedlachek, Kiel; his aunt, Donna Balz, Kiel. He is further survived by cousins, and many special friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Mike Klaeser; a special uncle, Tom (TJ) Balz and many other aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St.) with Deacon Bernard "Pat" Knier officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Cemetery.Family will greet friends and relatives from 1:00 pm until the time of service.A memorial fund has been established in Charlie's name.Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home will be assisting the family.The family would like to thank the entire staff at Holy Family Memorial for going above and beyond the last years.
