Calkins, CharlesCharles D. Calkins, 73 of Stevens Point passed away at home on July 6, 2017 with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on September 23, 1943 to Donald and Isabelle (Peplinski) Calkins in Stevens Point.He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Karma K. Calkins, his children Cyndi (Joe) Schoenberger, Beaver Dam WI, Jason Calkins, Menasha WI, Chuck Calkins, Bruce, WI, Kevin (Robin) Deaton, Huxley, IA and Kristin Deaton, Waupaca, WI, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one stepson. Charles worked at Consolidated Paper Mill for 36 years. He married his loving wife Karma on February 14, 1992 and Charles was the 5th generation to live with his family on the Calkins' family farm. It was there he developed his love of the garden and also ran his produce business for more than 20 years called Sandy Land Produce. There wasn't an antique tractor he didn't like to admire or miss out on a tractor pull. Charles enjoyed his involvement with Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails, and the Moose Lodge. He also loved hunting, fishing and RVing with Karma in the southern states but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Stacy who took wonderful care of Charles in his final days. Per Charles request no services will be held.
