Charles A. Peterson, age 64, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on May 30, 1952, in Erie, Pa., to the late Almon Rockwell and Margaret (DeBarr) Peterson. He graduated Wattsburg High School in 1970, where he was an all-star center for the Wattsburg Football Team and later played on the Wattsburg Men's Slow Pitch League. Charles was a self-employed carpenter and formerly worked at Ridg-U-Rak in North East. He loved spending time with his family, especially his numerous grandchildren. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, sports, bowling, four-wheeling, and was a proud member of the Burger King Breakfast Club and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother; a sister, Marilyn Peterson; and grandsons, Stephen Peterson and Coty Woodward. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, June Marie (Titch) Peterson, whom he married on May 7, 1977; sons, Don Hildum (Ali) of North East, Jake Peterson (Becky) of North East, and Toby Peterson (Nichole Bengel) of Summit Township; brothers, Rolly Peterson (Cheryl) of North East, Butch Peterson (Sue) of Fairview, Carl Peterson of Erie, and Roger Peterson (Yvonne) of Ohio; sisters, Dee Svetz of North East, Nancy White (Jim Wassink) of North East, and Doris Wilson-Hubler (Robert) of North East; grandchildren, Devon, Chrissy, Wyatt, Cheyenne, Olivia, Thomas, Margaret, Lexi, and Samantha; great-grandson, Drew; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Brotherhood of St. Joseph Club, 50 Clinton Street, North East, on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Individuals are encouraged to bring a dish, picture, or story to share.
