Gaedtke, age 75, a Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday morning, February 22, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.She was born on June 29, 1941 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Gilbert and Roma (Olm) Sixel. Caroline was a graduate of Kiel High School, Class of 1959. On June 9, 1962 she married Harlan Gaedtke at St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. Caroline enjoyed planting flowers, making German Potato Salad, babysitting and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where she also served as a church treasurer for many years.Survivors include her husband: Harlan Gaedtke, Manitowoc; one son: Gregg "Jethro" Gaedtke and special friend Becky Genske; two daughters and sons-in-law: Cheryl & Bernie Plagemann, Kim & Todd Moddie, all of Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Darian, Devon & Mackenzie Plagemann, Heather Gaedtke; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Peter & Patsy Sixel, Newton, Peggy Sixel, Sheboygan; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ardella Gaedtke, Manitowoc, Shirley Gaedtke, Manitowoc, Reinhardt Jr. & Shirley Gaedtke, Manitowoc, Rahlan & Mary Jane Gaedtke, Stevens Point, Maxine Gates, Two Rivers, Reginald & Phyllis Gaedtke, Manitowoc, and Herman Gaedtke, Kiel. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one brother: Gerald "Trixie" Sixel; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Reinhardt Sr. & Adeline Gaedtke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Geraldine & Harold Behnke, Jerome Gaedtke, Roman Gaedtke, Carol Gaedtke, Glenn Gates and a nephew: Gerad Sixel.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Jim Wilson with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017.
