Spanbauer, CaroleCarole Louise Spanbauer, age 64, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 7, 2017, after a hard fight with spinal muscular atrophy since 2005, the weakest form of Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born on November 10, 1952, the daughter of the late Richard and Barbara (Gustavus) Spanbauer. Carole resided in The Waterford in Oshkosh. She will be missed by two brothers, two sisters, seven nieces and seven nephews, and 15 great-nieces and nephews. She worked at various jobs, some she liked-others were just there. She had a lot of hobbies: knitting, embroidery, baking, photography, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, word search, Sudoku, music, spending time with her family, computer games, painting, reading Agatha Christie, collecting salt & pepper shakers, working on hickory nuts, working on the family tree, and going to casinos. She was baptized and confirmed at Algoma Blvd. Methodist Church. She served as a member of M.Y.F., the choir and bible study. She was a Girl Scout and was also a member of Job's Daughters. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1971. Carole also traveled around the U.S.A. and Canada. Carole is survived by her brothers and sisters: Robert (Peg) Spanbauer of West Bend, Nancy (Glenn) Delzer of Oshkosh, Christine (Anthony) Doro of Princeton, Charles (Debra) Spanbauer of Pickett; nieces and nephews: Jessica (Timothy) Klibowitz, Michael (Marcel) Spanbauer, Dawn Delzer, Gene(Jamie) Delzer, Scott (Melissa) Delzer, Elizabeth (Chad) MacGowan, Rebecca (Dave) Andersen, Kevin Doro, Katherine Doro, Thomas Doro, Crystal (Tanner) Vroman, Teresa Musha, Craig (Katelyn) Spanbauer and Eric Spanbauer; great-nieces and nephews: Elias Spanbauer, Cameron Mattson, Kayleigh Delzer, Evelyn and Levi MacGowan, Heidi and Grace Andersen, Ryder and Ethan Spanbauer, Logan, Wes and MacKenzie Musha, and Dane, Lacy and Avery Spanbauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Sarah Beth; grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 and on Thursday, August 10, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Waterford for the wonderful care they provided to Carole.
