Carol Sazama-Robbins, long-time Boulder resident, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving children. She was born on December 11, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Holding a PhD, CSW, and CAC II, she was a licensed psychotherapist, nationally-certified hypnotherapist, and credentialed addictions counselor. She was well-known for her effective therapy and counseling over the course of 20-plus years, and her proven results, combined with her loving nature and generosity, resulted in long-term friendships with many of her clients. Before that she instituted and directed a very successful inner city counseling program in Milwaukee, and during college was a dance instructor. Besides dancing, Carol enjoyed reading, hiking with her beloved lap dogs, spending time with friends and family, and attending the annual Conference on World Affairs in Boulder. She was also an avid traveler with her husbands Don Starling and Jerry Robbins, who preceded her in death. She regularly indulged in getaways to Estes Park and Hawaii, and traveled the world to many exotic places. Carol is survived by daughter, Sabrina Styza; and son, TJ Sazama, his wife Sarah, and their son Knox. She also leaves behind many cherished special cousins and other relatives and friends, who love and miss her deeply. Services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Community United Church of Christ, 2650 Table Mesa Drive in Boulder. A small reception will follow at the church.
