Carmen U. Martinez, a lifelong resident of Gonzales Ranch, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 in Santa Fe. She was born on Sept. 4, 1943 to the late Silviano Gonzales, Sr. and Maria Palmira Cordova Gonzales. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Martinez; son, Ted Nailor; two brothers, Lezardo Gonzales and Silviano Gonzales, Jr.; five sisters, Sally G. Maes, Lucille Lopez, Louisa Trujillo, Maria Helena Gonzales and Barbara Rose Gonzales.Carmen is survived by one son, Gerald Nailor Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Amor Nailor, Justin Nailor, Parish Nailor, Marissa Nailor, Adrianna Nailor and Antonio Nailor; special niece, Esperanza Gonzales; special nephew, Anthony Maes (deceased); four sisters, Precsilla Chavez, Jane R. Gonzales, Joann Gonzales (Aurelio), Irma Gonzales (Ben). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Carmen worked several years as a CNA in Las Vegas and Clovis. Her love for helping people led to her becoming a "grandma" to many in need of being cared for, and she enjoyed caring for her many cats.All services will be held at the Santa Teresita/San Isidro Catholic Church in Gonzales Ranch as follows: Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday; funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. George Salazar at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow the Mass at the Santa Teresita/San Isidro Cemetery.Pallbearers will be: Augustine Chavez Jr., Roberta Ramirez, Jaime Trujillo, Esperenza Gonzales, Glen Sena, Jesse A.
