Carl Wayne King passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 25, 1934 to Esther (Reddick) King in Quincy Illinois. He was raised in Hannibal Missouri and had so many fond memories of his childhood there. He joined the
U.S. Navy in 1951 where he traveled to Thailand, Korea, Alaska and Guam. He retired in 1974 as a Chief Petty Officer as a Flight Engineer. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Betty King; his children, Carl Wayne King Jr., Barbara (Robert) Vilkus and Lori (Ken) Goodwin; granddaughters, Jean Marie Langford, Mindy Goodwin, Mandy Donahue and Tara King. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and a very special niece, Martha Freeland and two nephews, David and Todd King. He was a very positive role model for his family and will missed by all who knew and loved him. Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Mitchell; stepfather, Delmar Mitchell; sister, Betty Bradshaw and brother Francis Richard King. There will be no immediate services. There will be a celebration of his life in the Spring when his family can once again come together.
