Carl lived his life for his family first. He loved being surrounded by family and friends.
He loved playing games, taking trips, gardening, and collecting antiques: cars, dolls, toys, and sewing machines.
He was born in Argyle, Michigan. He attended Sandusky High where he met the love of his life on his first day. He married Minnie Louise Henry on November 6, 1954.
They had four sons together.
He worked for GM truck plant over 36 years in Flint, Michigan.
In his later years, he enjoyed his summer home on Leisure Lake where he boated and fished.
When he retired, he and Louise moved to be near family in California.
Carl died after a year long battle with Leukemia. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family.
He will be remembered as a most wonderful husband and father, a great grandfather, a good and faithful friend, the world's best Pinochle player, an exceptional bargain hunter, a lover of food, and for his loud "crow" after a win!
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Minnie Louise; his four sons, Dan, Carl, Alan, and Dave; daughters-in-law, Antonella, Gabriele, and Barbara; nine grandchildren, Angela, Dee Ann, Shawn, Emmaline, Rebecca, Nicolas, Martin, Stephanie, and Natalie; five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Rayth, Tesla, Miriam, and Newton; and beloved pet, Beastie.
A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held in his San Bernardino home on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM.
