FAIRBORN — Carl E. Brigner, age 88, of Fairborn departed this life on February 2, 2015 and went to be with his Lord. Carl was born on December 10th, 1926. Carl was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife Betty, a son Donald P. Brigner of Paulden, Arizona, a daughter Phyllis Howard of Fairborn and grandchildren Susan Scaggs, Terri Preston, Shannon Habel, Kimberly Howard, Stacy Howard, and David Brigner all of Fairborn, a brother Paul R. Brigner of Michigan and sisters Darlene Shoemaker, Lena Sanders, and Beulah Maple, all of Portsmouth, Ohio a granddaughter Traci Newman of Florida, and 9 great grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Trilby Brigner, daughter Patricia Ann, son David and Dennis, sister Naomi Malone, and an infant brother David Lee. Carl served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Also he served in the United States Army Reserve and the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He retired in 1983 from WPAFB where he served as a contracting officer. He also served as contracts manager at Universal Energy Systems and at Adtech Systems Research both in Beavercreek, Ohio. Carl attended Fairborn Enterprise Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and Adult Bible class teacher. Carl will be missed by all who loved him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10AM Fairborn Enterprise Baptist Church 1614 Stewart Blvd, Fairborn, Ohio 45324 with Pastor Mark Long officiating.
