Byron was born on August 6, 1961, at Wake Memorial Hospital in Raleigh. As he grew older, he was known as a popular, athletic, and outgoing teenager. He attended Carnage Jr. High, Broughton, and Athens Dr. High Schools before attending Shaw Univerity.

He's always stood strong by his personal beliefs yet, he wasn't judgemental towards others. He's leaving behind his mother, Eula W Fort, and three brothers, Ransom J Fort Jr., Bickett W Fort, and Darell Fort. Four nephews, Dariell Fort, Deshawn Fort, Davonne Fort, Trey Fort, and many other family and friends.

 Although he had endured much during his life, he's now resting in peace with his Creator, God All-Mighty.
