Bruce J DabdoubNewbury Park, CABruce J. Dabdoub, 86, of Newbury Park, passed away at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from natural causes. Bruce was born on March 22, 1931 in Bethlehem, moved all over the Caribbean and South America as a young boy, but ended up in New York City at St. John?s University in 1949 as a teenager, where he studied pre-med and pharmaceuticals. He was eventually drafted, served in the 2nd Infantry in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Upon his return he graduated, met his then wife, Estelle and his only daughter, Jeannie was born in 1957 at Lennox Hill Hospital in Upper Manhattan. Bruce moved to California and was a known member of his community here since prior to 1960. As the Vice President of Operations for Thrifty Drug Corporation, his professional accolades exemplified his rarity and his sharp, impressive mind. Everyone that remembers him, with his warmth and his love, and the families and friends of Bruce, are just another testament to how many lives he touched. There are people all over the world who knew Bruce, and they will all remember him as one of a kind. His birth name was Ibrahim, but everyone knew him as simply ?Bruce? or ?Grandpa Bruce.? Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 5 years, Mary, his sister Alice Handal, and his grandson Jason Wilson all of Newbury Park; his daughter, Jeannie, his other grandson, Eric and his wife, Danielle, and his great granddaughter Mikayla, all of Arizona; and his third grandson, Aaron Wilson of Northridge. -There will be a Viewing on Sunday, June 11th at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012, from 3:00-4:00pm. -A Mass will be held the following day, Monday, June 12th at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 155 E Janss Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, from 10:30-11:30am. -The Burial will be at Conejo Mountain, Monday June 12th at 12:00pm following the Mass, and after a short Military Flag Ceremony for Bruce.
