Boyd E. Crouse, Jr.Age: 80 • StauntonBoyd Edward Crouse, Jr., 80, husband of Katherine Irene (Livezey) Crouse, of 311 North Madison Street, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his residence.Mr. Crouse was born on February 17, 1937 in Fries, Virginia, a son of the late John Boyd Crouse and Effie Lee (Johnson) Graham.Boyd attended the House of Prayer, worked over 20 years in construction for Guy C. Eavers and also enjoyed bell ringing for the Salvation Army, gardening, and always staying busy.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Edward Crouse; a son-in-law, John Chesley Fields; three brothers, Robert Lee Crouse, Charles Crouse, and Reginald Crouse; and three sisters, Marie Jarvis, Lola Owens, and Sue Hepler.Surviving in addition to his wife of 65 years, are two sons, Rex Crouse and Terry Crouse and his wife Daphne; a daughter, Debra Fields; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Edwards also survive.The family will receive friends from, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John Sheppard.Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Rex Crouse, Terry Crouse, John Fields, Jr., Christian Crouse, Dakota Hogsett, and Rita Fields.Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.coffmanfuneralhome.net.
