Booker T. Rogers, 90, passed on August 22, 2020. He was born to Clyde Rogers and Ursula Thompkins in Brooklyn, New York on April 16, 1930. He married Juanita Claiborne in 1950 and they lived together in Baltimore, Maryland. Together they raised two children Juaneau Rogers (later marrying Vonzelle Curry) and Cornel Rogers. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Colonel Rogers served his country for 29 years as a Helicopter Mechanic and Field Specialist in the 17th Brigade of the Army. He was deployed twice in 1950 and 1963 during the Cold War and Vietnam war respectively. The time that he spent with his family will always be held closely. When Booker T. wasn't risking his life and freedom for our country, he could be found helping local community centers, planting gardens in the Northwest of the city, or enjoying the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles winning games. Everyone knew Booker T. to be a fierce competitor, yet a loving and humble leader for his community.

He set goals and accomplished them. He lead by example. He gave back to the less fortunate. He provided for his family. He is loved. He is missed.

In such a time of mourning, we must not forget his wishes. To live to the best of character, spread peace, and be an inspiration for others.
