Bonnie Leah Barnette, 61, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh.She was born on Feb. 13, 1955, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Norman and Bernice (Bracken) Lunger.Bonnie worked as a cook and caregiver.She loved to read and play cards and was a fun-loving person who was full of laughter.Bonnie is survived by a son, Brandon M. Barnette of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Jamee (Todd) Rupp of New Bethlehem; two sisters, Jeanne (Terry) Haag of Rossiter and Ruby (James) Goss of Punxsutawney; and a grandson, McKinley Rupp.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. "Barney" Barnette, who died Dec. 11, 2002.Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 W. Main St., Rural Valley, PA.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Howard officiating.Interment will take place in the Emory Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Dayton.
