Beverly "Suzi" Jaquays passed away peacefully Thursday, June 30, 2011 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 26, 1946 to Horace W. and Genevieve R. Carmichael. She graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was an educator in Maryland, North Carolina and retired in 2004 after teaching at Ronald Reagan School for 14 years. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year for 4th-6th grades in 2000. She touched the lives of many children and made it her personal goal to see that each received the attention needed to be successful. She truly enjoyed shopping and found great pleasure in giving to others. She had a passion for gardening and creating a lovely home for her family.Suzi was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; son, Justin (Natalie); granddaughter, Riley; brother, Horace "Woody" (Louise) Carmichael Jr.; sister, Robin Fleming; sister-in-law, Jane (Marty) Eble. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nephews Damian Kunko and Ward Fleming and nieces, Julia Kunko, Julie Garrett, Kelly Boulden, and Suzanne Fruits.Mass will be at Immaculate Conception at 9 a.m. on July 6th. Private family burial at Desert Lawn Cemetary. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Yuma.
