LOGAN - Beverlee Bee Brown Stone, 84, passed away on April 2, 2008. She was born on December 12, 1923, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Newel S. and Lottie Barber Brown. She grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the public schools. She attended the University of Utah where she received a bachelor's degree. Then she attended the University of Chicago where she received her Bachelor of Philosophy degree. Finally, she attended Utah State University and obtained a Master's degree in education, administration and media. She taught two years at Adams Elementary School, in the Logan School District. She was the Media Specialist for 21 years at the Adams, Whittier, Woodruff and Hillcrest elementary schools. She helped to plan and design the first media center in Logan at the Adams School. She was an excellent teacher. She received the Teacher of the Year Award and the Utah Media Award. She served as the State President of the Utah Childhood Education organization. She also taught training classes at Utah State University for media specialists. She was active in the LDS church and served in many positions including the Relief Society where she was a teacher for 12 years. Her greatest joy was serving others. She could often be found delivering a loaf of homemade bread or some garden vegetables to a neighbor or friend. She married David Ray Stone, Jr. in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 15, 1943. They were happily married for 63 years. Soon after moving into the Logan 18th ward, she and some of her young married friends started a group they called simply the "club." They met every week and continue to this day. It was a wonderful time to share thoughts and enjoy being together as very close friends. She was a wonderful mother who worked hard to provide a comfortable home for her family. She cooked, cleaned, loved, and supported all of their many and varied interests. She helped them learn to work, taught them integrity and love, helped with school work and was a close friend and confidant for their dating days. Thank you Mom, for all you taught us and for how much you loved us. She is survived by five of their six children: David (Mary) Salt Lake City, UT, Daniel (Nancy) Logan, UT, Mark (Halli) Idaho Falls, ID, Lawrence (Tami) Logan, UT, and Walter (Jean) American Fork, UT; 19 living grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren. Her youngest son, Samuel, passed away when he was five years old. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, April 12, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street, Logan. A family gathering will be held that same day at 10 am at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
