Beulah TrainerBARTONVILLE - Beulah Kathryn (Hendricks) Trainer, 96, of Bartonville passed away Friday, February 3, 2017, at 2:18 p.m. at Hopedale Medical Complex.She was born on May 12, 1920, in Danvers, the daughter of Charles and Maude (Plank) Hendricks. She married Leo F. Trainer on February 12, 1960, celebrating 54 years together, until his death on May 15, 2014. She had previously been married to Kenneth H. Rollings. She is survived by one son, Mike (Becky) Rollings of Groveland; four daughters, Peggy Bragg of Bartonville, Kathy Jackson of Pekin, Linda Trainer of Bloomington and Ginny Keller of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.Besides her husband, Leo, Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; her daughter-in-law, Carole Rollings; her sons-in-law, Norm Bragg and Doug Keller; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.Beulah worked in data processing at Caterpillar, until her retirement in 1978. In the 1930s, she worked at the original Steak and Shake in Bloomington. As a young woman, Beulah and her two sisters performed in the Danvers area as a singing trio, The Hendricks Sisters, later dubbed "The Dimpled Darlings of Danvers." Beulah enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, crocheting and gardening. She loved dogs and owned many during her lifetime. She and Leo loved camping and traveling. She was active with the Peoria Blind Center, including the bowling league. In spite of lacking a sense of smell, Beulah was an excellent cook, especially noted for her potato salad, Thanksgiving stuffing, holiday fruitcake and "lighter than air" cheesecake.Beulah resided at Hopedale Commons West since 2014, and her family wishes to thank the staff there and at the Hopedale Medical Complex for their excellent care.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Reverand Denise Clark-Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, also at the funeral home.
