Betty Janell Martin Trowbridge Cardinal FLOYDADA-Betty Janell Martin Trowbridge Cardinal was born on Aug. 16, 1932, in Gainesville, Texas, and passed away on Nov. 19, 2016, in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eva Martin; husband, William Dub Trowbridge; husband, John Cardinal; and brother, William Martin. She is survived by John's children, Kathy Ward (Gene) of Plano, Cindy Barnett (Richard) and Tony Cardinal (Beth) of Lubbock. She also leaves eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nephew, Brad Martin of Amarillo; nieces, Kippy Wagner and Kim Vaughn of Petersburg; and numerous loved ones. Betty graduated from San Jacinto Beauty College and was a beautician for 28 years. She married Dub in 1955, and they lived in various towns throughout Texas as his insurance business grew. They eventually settled in Lubbock where they pursued their passion for quarter horses, travel and entertaining their friends and family. After Betty and John married they continued to travel with their R.V. clubs seeing the country and making new friends along the way. Betty, Dub and John were all devoted members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock. The family will hold a graveside service at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in the Floydada Cemetery.
