Betty Jane (Kingston) KuehrWas born on April 17, 1927 in Ellettsville, KY, to the late Henrietta Robertson and Earl H. Kingston. She passed away on September 20, 2016. Betty Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Norm Kuehr; sister, Marianne Blackley; and brothers, John and Earl Kingston.Betty Jane is survived by three loving children, Susan Kuehr, Mary Lynn Jennings (Tom) and Kurt Kuehr (Karen); and her loving sister, Josephine Lauth. She was blessed with four grandchildren; David Jennings, Lt. Michael Jennings, USN, Kristopher Kuehr and Kimberly Kuehr; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Owen Jennings.Betty Jane worked several jobs including keypunch operator at Ft. Ben and in the insurance business. She was involved in her children's sports, and was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop #383 for seven years. Betty Jane was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors. She and her husband Norm were blessed with many years of good health and traveled around the world. They enjoyed the warmth of Florida in the winter months but found their second home on the shores of Juniper Beach on Lake Michigan. Betty Jane loved her time in Michigan especially when the cottage was full of kids and grandkids on holiday weekends. Her children remember her strength like the foaming white caps on Lake Michigan and will remember her love and beauty like the blue skies glistening off Lake Michigan.A private memorial will be held for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 and/or Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
