Betty J. Michel87, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 11, 2017. She was born on May 6, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Sheridan and Ollie (Hulett) McKenzie. On March 18, 1951 she married John Wesley Michel. She was employed as a secretary for Pennington Line Realtors, retiring in 1992, prior she worked in the publicity department of Starlight Musical for ten seasons. Betty was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and past national President of WONARD (Women's Organization of the National Retail Druggists Association) and she also volunteered as a docent at IMA.Betty is survived by her husband John Wesley; children John (Cathy) Michel Jr., Cynthia (Rick) Chambers, son-in-law Rich Dayment; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in passing by her parents; daughter LuAnne Dayment; siblings Annabell Waggoner and Bertha Martin.Services will be held on 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be Friday, July 14 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the mortuary.
