Fechter, Betty J.Betty J. Fechter, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.Betty was born on May 5, 1930 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Sindelar. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. On October 2, 1948 she married Larry G. Fechter at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2001. Betty was a secretary at Manitowoc Lincoln High School for 23 years. She was a volunteer for Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish.Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Martha Coakley, Kingwood, TX, Barbara and Rodney Pevytoe, Eagle River, WI; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Frank and Kathy Fechter, Hortonville, WI, John Fechter, Houston, TX; eight grandchildren: Mark (Angie) Fechter, Jodi (Jeff) Kozolovsky, Eric (Jenny) Fechter, Erin (Jay) Ellison, Sarah (Tony) Goetz, John Coakley, Laura (Will) Bradley, and William (Kaitlyn) Pevytoe; and eight great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Martha Sindelar (Infant), Blanche (Fritz) Ellerman, Martha (Jim) Leach; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Giles Hubbard, Fred Fechter, Mary Jane and Gus Kelley.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry.
