FAIRBORN — Betty M. Graeter, 89, of Urbana since 2008, formerly of Dayton, Fairborn and Xenia, died on Friday, August 15, 2014 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was born on March 14, 1925 in Urbana, the daughter of Leo and Beulah (Barnett) Thornburg. Betty, a graduate of Urbana High School, attended Faith Fellowship Church, enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles and going out to eat. She retired from the A.T.& T office in Xenia.Along with her husband William, they sang in churches, nursing homes and many other venues. Survivors include a daughter Linda Smith of Urbana; step daughters Gloria (Keith) Pearce of Arcanum, Janice (John) Hightower of CA; step son Terry (Susan) Graeter of KY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother Charles (Jeanette) Thornburg of Urbana. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband William G. Graeter on April 9, 2013; and 2 brothers Paul and Lee Thornburg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana,where a service will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Roger Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
