Betty Ann Strother, 75 of Stanardsville, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2018, at her home. She was born on February 6, 1943, in Charlottesville, to the late Ada Lee Graves Bright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Strother Sr.; and two sisters, Alice Carpenter and Bonnie Graves. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Strother of Stanardsville; a son, Gene Strother Jr. of Ruckersville; a brother, Wilson Bright of Stanardsville; two sisters, Gloria Bright and Sharon Bright, both of Stanardsville; grandchildren, Teresa Strother, Breanna Strother, and Chance Johnson; and many family and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2018, at Oberlin Baptist Church in Raleigh, with interment at the church cemetery. Dr. Harrison Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.
