Veers, Bertha E.Bertha E. Veers, age 96, of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church 4142 Cty. Road C West, Mosinee, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017. Pastor Darryl Kenagy will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be at Hansen-Schilling Funeral home in Marshfield on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the time of service at the church on Friday.Bertha was born on December 29, 1920 in the town of Green Valley to Fred and Minnie (Jacoby) Hollatz. She was baptized into Christ in January of 1921, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. She attended Phillips School, and completed her GED at the age of 58. She spent several years working in Milwaukee before moving back to the town of Day. On August 21, 1943 she was united in marriage to Charles G. Veers at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the town of Day. Together they operated a dairy farm and were blessed with six children. Bertha was a very active member of her church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a 4H leader, and enjoyed traveling to visit family. She loved her Lord and Savior sharing her faith with all who knew her. She is lovingly survived by her children, Robert (Joan) Veers of Stratford; Betty (Tim) Galbreth of Signal Mt., TN; John (Jane) Veers, of Kankakee, IL; Jeanne (Vern) Hildebrandt of Mosinee; Carol Veers of Rozellville; Paul (Karen) Veers of Golden, CO. 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Kreuser of Mosinee, Lynn Rogowski, of Milwaukee, and Clara Miller of Mosinee, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, and two sisters.
