Bernard L. ElleryPort HuronBernard L. Ellery, age 82, of Port Huron, passed away on January 28, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 13, 1934 to the late Ruth and Arthur Ellery. He married Joan Loshaw on April 26, 1951, in St. Clair. Pops proudly served his country in the National Guard. He retired as a journeyman Tool and Die Marker. He enjoyed woodworking, MG Midgit's, fishing, garage sales and spending time with his family.Dad's health failed over the past year, due to a broken heart from the passing of his beloved wife, Joan. Together they shared 9 children, Steven (Kathy) Ellery of St. Clair, Mike Ellery, Dennis (Nancy) Ellery of St. Clair, Dawn (Tom) Frantz of St. Clair, Denise (David) Theut of Fort Gratiot, Bob (Bobbi Jo) Ellery of St. Clair, Ken Ellery of St. Clair, Bernard (Marisa) Ellery of Port Huron and Greg Ellery (April Williams) of Port Huron. Proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Virginia (Andrew) Fredericks of Marine City, Arthur Ellery of Cocoa, Florida, Bill (Carol) Ellery of Marysville, George (Carol) Ellery of Groton, Connecticut and Dianna (Phil) Carroll of Gaylord. Preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ellery, grandson, Todd Frantz, brothers, Robert Ellery and Herb Ellery, sisters, Rosie Diselrath and Marylou Cornette.Visitation will be 4:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron, services will be private.Burial will be next to his wife in Rosehill Cemetery, East China Township.Memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.To view the obituary and share memories, please visit www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com
