Benjamin Boleman89, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017.  He was born on June 21, 1927, in Indianapolis to the late Edward & Mary (Sweet) Boleman.  Ben graduated from Shortridge High School in 1945 and went on to proudly serve our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.After his service, Ben returned to Indiana and graduated from Indiana University in 1949 and was a Beta Theta Pi member.  Ben married the love of his life on October 3rd, 1953, Mary Ann (Gasmo) Boleman and together they had 2 children, Carole and Scott.Ben started his career in real estate with F.C. Tucker, but evolved into residential building and development.  Ben was a leading pioneer in custom home building and was a member of many organizations, including: Marion County Builders Assoc., Builders Assoc. of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI), and Indpls BD of Realtors.  Ben was also a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Meridian Hills Country Club, Columbia Club, Athletic Club, Traders Point Hunt Club, a lifelong swimmer at the Riveria Club, and a volunteer at Second Helpings.  Ben was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and genealogist. Ben and Mary Ann were one of the first Indianapolis families to take up residency in Sanibel Island, Florida.  Ben also carried dual citizenship from Ireland. Ben is survived by his son, Scott (Betsy Mitman) Boleman; daughter, Carole "Rinkey" (Jim Whalen) Boleman; and 2 grandchildren, Eric and Ian Boleman. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Boleman and his brother Joe Boleman.A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 at Leppert Mortuary - Nora, 740 E. 86th St, Indianapolis from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  He will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Crown Hill Cemetery. The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Douglas Franke and the staff at Senior 1 Care for their compassionate care.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bread of Life, P.O.
