BARRY GLEN BRATTRUD, 45 CHEYENNE, WY. - Barry Glen Brattrud, 45, formerly of Forreston and Lena, IL passed away at his home in Cheyenne, WY on August 4, 2015 from cardiac arrest. Barry was born on May 16, 1970 to Ronald and Marcia Brattrud in Freeport. He graduated from Forreston High School in 1988 and pursed a career as an auto mechanic at Tom's Standard, Bocker Chevrolet, Reeds Marathon and owned Barry's Auto Repair in Freeport until moving to Cheyenne in 2012. Barry was an avid outdoorsman who loved the mountains, hunting and... fishing and spending time with his son, family and friends. Barry is survived by his son, Coltan Brattrud of Freeport; his parents, Ron and Marcia Brattrud of Freeport; sisters, Angela (Wayne) Knight of Mt. Carroll and Stephanie (Tim) Sorn of Freeport; grandmother, Alice Brattrud of Baileyville; nieces, Sierra and Tabitha Richards, Hannah, Katherine and Samantha Knight; nephew, Thomas Knight; aunts and uncles, Pam Gesin of Freeport, Lori (Dan) Miller of Forreston, Randy Brattrud (Karen) of Baileyville, Steve (Jackie) Tipton of Shannon and Andy (Barb) Brattrud of Fairbanks, AK; numerous cousins and 1 who was also his best friend, Richard Haigenga. Barry was Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Craig Brattrud and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Harriet Gesin. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 5 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 1668 Crossroads Lane, Freeport, with a gathering and fellowship time from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
