Barbara Louise Richter1930 - 2013Barbara Louise Richter, 82, of Twin Lakes, Wis., passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Geneva Lake Manor. She was born on Dec. 15, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Zobel) Widman. On July 28, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harvey (Bud) Richter. Barbara grew up gardening and canning vegetables and fruit. She prided herself on stocking her cellar shelves every fall. She was an avid walker; her many miles around Twin Lakes, and later at the Wellness Center with friends, were some of her fondest memories. Besides gardening she enjoyed knitting sweaters for family members. She donated over 8,000 hours to the Aurora Health Care System by knitting hats for newborn babies and greeting patients upon arrival.Barbara was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Slades Corners, serving on the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She especially enjoyed participating in the Easter morning breakfast and Advent celebrations. She is survived by her husband, Harvey; two sons Thomas (Jane) Richter of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and William Richter of Milwaukee, Wis.; granddaughter Kristen (Matt) McCullough; nieces and nephews. Her sister Mary Stilling and niece Kim precede her in death.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Sep. 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church 39506 60th St. Burlington, WI. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday Sept. 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI.
