VERESBarbara LeeBarbara Veres passed away on December 12, 2016 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital after a valiant fight following complications from open heart surgery. Barbara was born on January 13, 1940, in Elmer, NJ to Charles and Lillian (Stratton) Smith. She moved to Toledo, OH in 1969 after marrying Toledo-native, Elmer W. Veres, who proceeded her in death. Barbara worked for many years in the automotive industry in the Toledo area, retiring as Controller at Ballas Buick GMC in 2007. After retirement, Barbara focused her love and attention on her grandchildren, supporting their activities, along with visiting family each summer at her beloved New Jersey shore. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Dan) Veres-Sutton and Sue (Gregory) Veres Royal; grandchildren, Sam and Sydney Sutton of Toledo and Zari and Marist Veres Royal of New York City; her sister, Elizabeth (John) Brigham of Vineland, NJ, along with nieces and nephews. Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, strength, resolve and sense of humor. Services in celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Church, where friends are invited to visit after 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to the , one of the many charities Barbara supported.
