Jacobson, B. LyleB. Lyle Jacobson, 88, of Rudolph, died Monday, Sep. 25, 2017, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.He was born on Oct. 24, 1928, in Wisconsin Rapids, to the late Carl and Kate (Joyner) Jacobson, and served in the U.S. Army Military Police. On May 1, 1952, he was married to Naomi Westfall at the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were devoted to one another for 60 years, until her death in 2013.Lyle attended UW-Stevens Point and graduated from UW-Madison. He worked his entire career at Consolidated Papers from 1957 to 1987 as an Engineer in the corporate office in Wisconsin Rapids and finishing at the Biron Division. Lyle placed a high value on friendship and throughout his adult life built deep and abiding relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds. These friends accompanied him on many of their travels and made those experiences rich and memorable. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed both fishing and hunting with these friends. He made hundreds of trips to Canada fishing for walleye, and also hunted pheasant, turkey, deer, elk, and moose. One of his life's highlights were the years he and Naomi were counselors for church-sponsored canoe camps into the Boundary Waters. Through these trips, they developed many enduring friendships with the teens they chaperoned.Survivors include his children Judy (Steve) Twigley of Madison, Dan (Lori) Jacobson of Anderson, South Carolina, and Jane (David) Dumke of Rudolph; grandchildren, Jordan (Eric) Pupols, Mark Dumke, Brett (Sam) Taber and Kate Dumke, great-grandson, Caden Pupols, and sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Gerald) Matthews, and Zelda (Richard) Guzman.The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Crossview Church in Wisconsin Rapids with the Rev. Dan DeRoche officiating. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossview Church.
